Chris is probably one of my favorite characters in the PKF, he makes a very unique parallel to Tom. When I first decided to make Chris's involvement in the Comic more than what I originally intended I was faced with a few major choices...mostly involving appearance. I wanted him to look like Tom physically, but I wanted him to have smaller, more focused eyes, I still don't know what made me put those rings under his eyes, but they work. Chris dresses differently than Tom, tending to wear long sleeve shirts and lighter material pants.
Chris becomes a much more important force in book two, in fact it is actually titled in part with Chris in mind, no...you don't get the title, not just yet. But over the course of the book you really see Tom deteriorating, with Chris right there egging him along. It's kind of funny, I never intended Chris to have a voice, maybe a quite one, but not like he has now. So it's fun writing for him...infact I considered Chris, at one point, to be Tom's friend still. But I think I made the right choice with him being an egotistical bastard and all.
This is also the first time you see Chris's colorings, it wasn't something I was trying to hide...I just hadn't completely decided on them. But they could still change, after all he is just a figment of Tom's disturbed psyche (or is he? Dun dun dun...).
